Mistletoe Therapy & Integrative Oncology

Courses in a special, emerging approach to cancer care

Practical and comprehensive

  • We strive to cover all aspects of research and practical application, while also offering a deep and mindful approach to the unique aspects of the therapy. The courses focus on best practices and are taught by of some of the most experienced and knowledgeable allopathic and naturopathic clinicians in the field.

Experience

  • The teachings come from decades of experience gained in the best European clinics. Our faculty have over 50 years of combined experience in mistletoe therapy. The collaborative teaching they offer is thorough, well-informed, dynamic and inspiring.

Synergistic

  • The courses are designed to work with current integrative and naturopathic practices that are synergistic with mistletoe.

Certified

  • Courses are certified by the Medical Section at the Goetheanum.

A note about certificates: There is not a means of “certifying” in mistletoe therapy. The key is to acquire the best training available in order to best meet the needs of patients. We do not offer a certificate for our recorded courses. If you attend at least 90% of the live sessions during an online live course or an in-person course, you receive a certificate of participation. If you complete a live, online course, plus successfully complete a full year of the PAAM Mistletoe Apprenticeship Program, you are eligible to receive a certificate of training. Our courses are developed in collaboration with, and certified by the Medical Section at the Goetheanum.

Recorded Course:
2026 Fundamental Best Practices
of Mistletoe Therapy and Integrative Oncology

The Fundamental Best Practices Course took place live, online, Feb 13-15, 2026. It was a great group of learners and many are now actively mentoring within the 2026 Apprenticeship Program.

The lectures presented during that course will soon be available for purchase as a recorded course on AnthroMed. PAAM members and PAAM training program participants can earn Category 1 CME/CE credit for Reflective Practice alongside their training using PAAM’s Learner+ platform. For full dues-paying members, the cost of this CME/CE is covered by your annual dues paid to PAAM. For those who do not pay annual dues to PAAM, the cost of CME/CE is built into registration fees.

Instructions for setting up a Learner+ account are given at the beginning of course.

Be watching for announcements coming soon.

Begun in 2019, the Practitioner Trainings in European Mistletoe & Integrative Oncology Best Practices have developed into a robust program of regular courses and annual mentoring.

In 2026 we offered the live, online basic training in the fundamentals of understanding and prescribing mistletoe. We discussed practical strategies for supporting and treating the “whole” patient. Our training is unique in that our diverse faculty explores the metabolic basis of treatment as well as the psychological and spiritual dimensions of medicine. Participants learn about basic administration of viscum album mistletoe integrated with anthroposophic, naturopathic and metabolic medicine. We strive to honor, appreciate and better understand the self-determining potential of each human being for their own healing.

Previous course participants often reflect on how this training has improved their capacity for diagnosis and innovative treatment of their patients, as well as how it has improved their own health and perspective of self-care. You don’t want to miss this special opportunity.

This course is recognized by the Medical Section at the Goetheanum and is open to MDs, DOs, NDs, NPs and PAs.

The topics covered within this thorough and extensive fundamentals course include:

  • Phenomenology of the mistletoe plant, along with an anthroposophic picture of cancer, science and immunology

  • The fourfold human being and the role of the warmth organization in illness and health

  • The fundamentals of metabolic medicine: fasting, ketogenic diets and nourishment

  • Basic prescribing and host trees

  • Basic metabolic prescribing and testing

  • Helleborus and adjunctive anthroposophic medicines

  • Medicines that are synergistic with mistletoe

  • Long-term prescribing and helpful testing

  • Treating leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma - non-solid tumors

  • Troubleshooting challenges

The Mistletoe Therapy Course faculty have written a book, published by Steiner Books!

"In this pioneering book, doctors and patients will discover the incredible power of mistletoe therapy and its foundational place within integrative cancer care. As this book demonstrates, plant-based supplements that stimulate the immune system's own power — such as mistletoe — are a welcome addition to current cancer treatments and may eventually become first-line treatments (with fewer side effects)."
